Charity Auction - Falkland Island Exclusive

PLEASE NOTE WHEN BIDDING THE AMOUNT ENTERED IS THE AMOUNT YOU ARE BIDDING.  THERE IS NO AUTO BIDDING. 

We have been kindly donated, by Bob a serving Officer with permission from the manager NAAFI BFSAI, a bottle of Hunter Laing's Old and Rare Single Malt Whisky Selection.  This is from a single cask of Speyburn  that has been matured for 15 years in a Sherry Butt that was bottled exclusively for the British Forces South Atlantic Islands. 

The Auction will run until the eve of the Anniversary of the start of the war some 42 years ago.  Ending 1 Apr 2024.

All money raised from the sale of this bottle will go directly to The Not Forgotten Association, a charity restoring dignity, confidence and independence to veterans since 1920.   Bringing veterans together, lifting spirits and transforming lives.

The Falklands War -2 April - 14 June 1982

On the 2nd Apr 1982 Argentina invaded and occupied the Falkland Islands and South Georgia.  On the 5th Apr the British government dispatched a naval task force to engage the Argentine Navy and Air Force before making an amphibious assault on the islands.

The conflict lasted 74 days and ended with an Argentine surrender on 14 June, returning the islands to British control.

In total, 649 Argentine military personnel, 255 British military personnel, and three Falkland Islanders were killed during the hostilities.
