Mossburn Aged 12 Years Dupont Calvados Finish Blended Malt Whisky 70cl 57.2%
Description
The single malt for this blend were chosed from four Speyside distilleries and aged for 12 years in refill American oak hogsheads, then married together and re-aged in French oak barrels that previously held Calvados and Pommeau, both typical of the Normany region.
The Master Blender chose the four single malts for their spicy florality and nuttiness, to combine during the second ageing with the baked apple and oaky spice that the Calvados casks would contribute. The final whisky has a well-rounded complexity with notes of red apple, ginger, nut brittle and a gentle spicy finish.
