Malt Master Brian Kinsman

Zoom in - Malt Master Brian Kinsman

Malt Master Brian Kinsman, a scientist by training, joined William Grant & Sons in 1997 as a whisky chemist where it quickly became apparent that he had a ‘good nose’.  He took over the role of Malt Master for the Glenfiddich Distillery and master blender at William Grant & Sons from whisky legend and mentor David Stewart in 2009.  Over the last couple of decades Brian Kinsman has become renowned throughout the whisky industry for his outstanding expertise.

He has crafted some of the most exciting whiskies in the William Grant & Sons history. They include a reimagining of Grant’s and creating Monkey Shoulder, Ailsa Bay and Glenfiddich Grand Cru, a 23-year old single malt, aged in American and European oak casks and finished off in rare French cuvee casks.
