The Winchester Distillery

The Winchester Distillery, founded by Paul Bowler in 2014, is located in Winchester, Hampshire. It started in Paul’s home kitchen and has since grown into a larger facility. The distillery is known for its hand-crafted premium spirits, made using traditional methods and botanicals sourced from the surrounding Hampshire landscape.

Paul, a former software developer, decided to leave his career and the daily commute to London behind to follow his passion for gin and become more engaged with the local community. Although he had lived in Winchester for many years, he often felt like a visitor in his own hometown and wanted to change that.

By initially selling gin at Hampshire Farmers’ Markets and through local pubs and restaurants, Paul began to connect with more locals who shared his enthusiasm for food and drink. These individuals, to whom we owe our gratitude for helping us reach where we are today, remain loyal supporters and many have become friends along the way.
