Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Single refill oloroso hogshead

Sometimes LBD find a refill sherry cask that just really hits the sweet spot for us. That balance of spirit and wood. And the balance point can be different depending on the cask or the distillate, it might be more spirit forward, or more cask influenced. For LBD though, this is just a cracking example of how good refill wood can be and it just works so well with the Caol Ila here. Well, we think Caol Ila suits most occasions to be honest, you could probably drink it straight off the still, one of our favourite Islay distillates, well top 9 anyway…. Sadly, once an absolute core whisky of the indie bottler, recent years has seen that once abundant supply severely cut back so who knows how long it will be before LBD can get thier hands on another.

Single Cask, non chill filtered, natural colour, cask strength, you know how LBD operate by now.
306 bottles.

A big blue lobster on the label, because this is a big fresh coastal beastie.

Nose – At the risk of coming across a bit SMWS…. Taking a big deep huff of sea air, on the beach with a smoldering bonfire.
Palate – Lapsang souchong with lemon, bog myrtle, is there such a thing as smoked figs?
Finish – Elegant, long pepper
