Description
This rich and complex Barbadian rum has been double aged. First on the shores of the brilliantly turquoise Caribbean Sea in Barbados, the birthplace of rum, in American white oak barrels before sailing by boat to the south-west of France to further age in Ferrand casks.
This double ageing process follows a time honoured tradition of combining tropical and continental enviroments along with a dynamic sea voyage of the casks by boat to achieve that classic and delicious Planteray Rum style.
For this special release they have gone one step further, paying homage to the fine Pedro Ximenez houses of Andalusia, Spain by ageing for a third time in elegant ex-Pedro Ximenez casks imparting a nutty dried raisin mellow finish to this exquisite sipping rum.
